And I would have kept going if the next one had been out!!I'll start off by apologizing to Ashley Meira. I started off the first book thinking it was too similar to Lindsey Hall's Dragon Gift series. They both have similar premises, and the main characters have a lot in common, but I was quickly shown my error. I am so glad I was wrong, though, because the Touched by Magic series completely blew me away.
Sophia is such a relatable character and she breaks down that "snarky girl heroine" that I've come to dread. She catches herself being mean to her friends and actually feels remorse. She acknowledges her weaknesses and I feel that you can see her growth in her relationships throughout the books.
Her "gift" has realistic consequences, and I think Ashley did an amazing job with showing how the comedowns are after she indulged a little too much in magic. Her relationships (both platonic, working, and romantic) are almost too real. Sophia doesn't always save the day, and sometimes people get hurt.
I just can't say enough good things about this book. We got to see a lot more of Adam and Fiona, which I loved. Adam is turning out to be a much more complex character than I gave him credit for originally.
Magic Lost was my favorite so far, and I am very impatiently waiting for the fourth!!

Really enjoyed reading this series. The characters are well developed and make you root for all of them. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Ashley Meira writes a great story. This adventure keeps getting better and better with each new book. Can't wait until the next one is released.
This book kept me going and look forward to the next installment and how Sophia gets her fireborn powers back.
Very well written I like the series very much, can't wait for the next book, I per-read books for young people to encourage them them to read good books, these are good clean fantasy book for any age. Good job
The ending for this book was very interesting and unexpected. Some parts I was so happy about and others totally blindsided me. I can't wait to see what happens next!!!
I did not see that coming. Can't wait for the next book. Love the people in the books, really want them all to have a happy ever after.....lol
I cannot say enough about these books. The story completely hooks you from the very first chapter and keeps you reading until the end! I do get aggravated with the angst a bit, but the author keeps it very focused and believable. A lot of drama happened in this book but it was as addictive as the first two!
